Fat Wrap's great feel is due to it's firm yet absorbing texture, and highly tapered edges.  As you wrap the bar, the edges lay flat, so you get that satin-y, one-piece feel!  Thick enough to absorb small road shocks, but not so big that it interferes with hand positions or braking.  

Sampson has also been producing carbon bars for a very long time, we advise against using any bar wrap with adhesive backing.  Why?  The residue on the bars is very hard to remove, and when it is time to change your tape, or a shift lever, you have to peel the adhesive from the bars, or remove with solvents and scrapers which is NOT a good method with any type of carbon bars.  Best case, it is added time and hassle, worst case you can damage your carbon bars!
