FOR COMFORT AND SPEED, NOTHING ELSE DELIVERS LIKE THE STRATICS ERGO BARS !
All those curves and shapes work to make you ride with really happy hands, while offering new positions that work to help you go faster too! We have been providing the Ergo bars for years and years, and making a legion of happy riders in the process!
Ergo bars are wide on top- almost 45 mm wide. By providing a bigger area, the pressure is distributed over a larger contact zone, which can be highly beneficial in helping to reduce those tingling fingers. See those circular depressions in the back of the bar? Those are for your thumbs, and when you put yours in there, that kink in your wrist almost disappears, making for very happy hands and fingers.
Ok, we admit, the Ergo's have a funny looking front bend, but that bend lets them provide a reduced reach for the brakes and shifters, while maintaining a standard drop. Another great new riding spot is behind the shifters, where many riders can place their palm into the recess , and ride with a fully open hand!
The new shapes will certainly deliver more comfort, but what about speed? Well, at the risk of a little bike-industry blasphemy, some Ergo bars may well let you get into a much better position on the bike. While everyone loves the thought that one of the new sleek frames ( even our own) will make you instantly into a Tour contender, the reality is how you are positioned on the bike remains the biggest factor in your speed.
The Ergo bars start with a sloping wing-shape, for extra speed out of the chute. The Ergo's also feature a shaped bulge in the drops that fills the void that forms in your plam when you grab the bar. By supporting your hands it helps keep you more comfortable, so you are able to ride the drops longer! A smaller frontal area is sure to be one of the best speed enhancements you can make in your riding !
We recommend Fat Wrap for use with ALL brands of carbon bars as it is adhesive free. This makes re-wrapping or removal a very simple and quick process, and you don't need to scrape or use chemicals to get residue off which can quickly damage carbon bars.
NOTE: MAXIMUM STEM TORQUE ON THE BAR IS 5 NM, PLEASE INSTALL WITH TORQUE TOOL.
DO NOT CLAMP OR ATTACH LIGHTS, COMPUTERS, ETC. DIRECTLY ON THE BAR, USE A BASE TAPE LAYER UNDER THE BRACKET. DO NOT MOUNT ANYTHING OVER 40 GRAMS IN WEIGHT ON THE BARS, SUCH AS CLIP -ON AREO BARS.
USE TORQUE PASTE ( CARBON PASTE) ON THE STEM AND SHIFTER CLAMPING AREAS DURING ASSEMBLY.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A 200 POUND RIDER WEIGHT LIMIT ON THIS HANDLEBAR.
NOTE; Do not use with stems that use clamping sections on the front that are less than 10 mm in width.
NOTE: made sure all surfaces that contact the bar are smooth and without sharp edges. Use emery cloth or a deburring tool to radius all stem edges before inserting handlebar into your stem
