Comfort. Low weight. Steering precision. That is why the Stratics Ergo bars have been a favorite for years!
The Stratics Ergo features a very wide top ( almost 45 mm wide) that provides a big surface for added palm contact area. Added contact means lower pressure on any point, reducing numbness. If you have tingling flingers, often switching to the Ergo is all that is needed to resolve this for many riders!
Where a lot of people feel their hands the most is during long climbs. The Stratics Ergo features a couple of circular depressions on the back of the bar, next to the stem. This depression is made to hold your thumb. When you grip the bar and put your thumb into the circular recess, , the kink in your wrists almost disappears. Your hands and wrists assume a more natural, relaxed position. More relaxation means happier hands and less finger tingling ! Remember our old trick of gripping lightly and playing the piano on long ascents, and you should feel immediate improvement in your hands and fingers. With the Ergo's you also get some added vibration reduction due to the natual attenuation quality of carbon, always a nice benefit.
The Stratics bars also feature a truncated front curve, so while they are standard depth, they give you the ability to have a short reach for enhanced brake feel. The Stratics Ergo bars also feature a full anatomic bulge on the drops, which gives you added palm support when you are in the drops jamming along in the wind, on a descent, or just as a change of pace.
The last part is precision control. The wide shape of the bar delivers a great road feel, so you are connected on every twist and turn .
The Stratics Ergo features molded in cable guides under bar for extra tidy looks. Available in 40, 42 or 44 and 46 cm sizes, measured center to center. Shaping on the 40 and 46 cm verisons varies slightly. 31.8 bar diameter. Approximately 250 g in 42 cm size.
We recommend Fat Wrap for use with ALL brands of carbon bars as it is adhesive free. This makes re-wrapping or removal a very simple and quick process, and you don't need to scrape or use chemicals to get residue off which can quickly damage carbon bars.
NOTE: MAXIMUM STEM TORQUE ON THE BAR IS 5 NM, PLEASE INSTALL WITH TORQUE TOOL.
DO NOT CLAMP OR ATTACH LIGHTS, COMPUTERS, ETC. DIRECTLY ON THE BAR, USE A BASE TAPE LAYER UNDER THE BRACKET. DO NOT MOUNT ANYTHING OVER 40 GRAMS IN WEIGHT ON THE BARS, SUCH AS CLIP -ON AREO BARS.
USE TORQUE PASTE ( CARBON PASTE) ON THE STEM AND SHIFTER CLAMPING AREAS DURING ASSEMBLY.
PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A 200 POUND RIDER WEIGHT LIMIT ON THIS HANDLEBAR.
NOTE; Do not use with stems that use clamping sections on the front that are less than 10 mm wide , I.e. a Front Stem with 2 front clamping plates of 7 mm width each.
NOTE: made sure all surfaces that contact the bar are smooth and without sharp edges. Use emery cloth or a deburring tool to radius all stem edges before inserting handlebar
