SAMPSON SPORTS BRAKES
Smooth, light, and very predictable. When it comes braking, like most things in cycling, it takes a balance of attributes to be the best. That is why the new Sampson Stratics and Showtime brake sets give you more features than the others! All the brakes feature to level finish and details. The brakes both are great modulating, with the mechanical advantage of dual-pivot calipers if you need to stop in a hurry! Though we use full steel bolts and posts for exceptional strength, the Stratics is one of the lightest brakes made, while the Showtime is still in the weight class of many brands top level products! Both on the road, and on the scale the Sampson brakes are setting new standards of performance!
- Stratics brake set is 260 grams per pair with pads, Showtime is 311 g. pr. with pads (Stratics is 199 g. w/o pads-the way some now weigh brakes)
- Stratics brakes come with composite wheel pads installed, plus 4 additional rubber pads, a $30-$50 retail value. Showtime brakes come with rubber pads
- Both models feature full steel bolts, posts, and fittings for maximum durablity
- Both brake models have easy set-up and use features such as a fully indexed wheel opener, large cable adjusting barrel, full cable clamp and large mounting bolts that use a chrome plated 5 mm hex
- Stratics brakes caliper arms are cold- forged and the base plates are CNC machined for maximum performance and minimum weight
- Showtime brakes are high polished while the Stratics are polished and black anodized
- Stratics brakes are about $199 (US) while the Showtime brakes are $119
